For the last 7 years Morrisons has continued to recruit and invest in our Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme and to date we have recruited a total of 107 candidates who are either on their journey to becoming a Multi Skilled Engineer or have successfully completed their course and are working in one of our Manufacturing sites. We have exciting opportunity at Turriff Manufacturing, Aberdeen, Scotland.
Here we produce high quality meat for processing at our meat and chilled manufacturing sites. Theres also a good chance that your lamb chops came from this site in Scotland.Operating five days a week, our Turriff manufacturing facility covers 150,000 square feet on seven acres of land. At our cattle and sheep processing site, our 300+ colleagues supply beef and lamb to Farmers Boy and external businesses such as Birds Eye. We also source Scottish livestock for our Scottish stores.
As an Engineering Apprentice, youll work hands on and side by side with our seasoned engineers, mastering the art of maintaining, repairing and improving our machinery. Its a great opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge in engineering while working with a supportive team.
Your daily tasks will include:
Troubleshooting and repairing equipment
Learning about electrical and mechanical systems
Assisting in equipment installation and upgrades
Participating in continuous improvements
Conducting preventative maintenance tasksBy the end of your apprenticeship you will:
Be trained in both mechanical and electrical engineering maintenance
Completed City & Guilds Level 3 in Food and Drink Engineering Maintenance
Have strong knowledge of food safety, compliance and processing
This is a 3 year apprenticeship scheme and will include residential block release (up to 20 weeks away from home) for studies and exams. Our apprentice scheme offers a very competitive salary and benefits packages. About You
In order to be considered for our engineering apprenticeship you must be aged 18 or over and have achieved (or predicted) a Level 6 (Grade B) in Maths and Level 5 (Grade C) in English. It would also be desirable to have a Level 5 (Grade C) in Science.
Youll have a passion for engineering and a strong desire to learn; problem solving skills and a can-do attitude will get you far in our sites with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in.
