Roles & Responsibilities:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an important role in assisting kids with exceptional educational needs and challenging behaviours. Your tasks will include the following:
Assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of the SENCO.
Support students with SEN in a classroom setting, providing one-on-one or small group assistance.
Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and provide tailored support to meet individual needs.
Help create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans.
Requirements:
Candidates with experience in care and support work are preferred.
Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable but not required.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children with diverse learning needs.
Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with SEN would be beneficial.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
