The IT department sits within the Corporate Services directorate and plays an important part in enabling Roke to deliver customer work. The department provides effective, compliant, secure, and resilient technical infrastructures, allowing our people to work effectively wherever they are based.
Scope of role:
Reporting into the IT Transformation Lead, the IT Implementation Manager is responsible for the end-to-end delivery and management of IT work requests and their associated work packages. This role can be based at Woking site, but travel to other Roke sites will be an occasional requirement.
Effective stakeholder management is a key part of this role, they must champion service culture and actively contribute to the IT depts continuous improvement initiatives; managing and leading complex stakeholders towards solutions while helping them understand resource constraints and prioritisation conflicts.
The role will be principally accountable for the accurate administration of the central IT Work Request Portfolio, ensuring that works defined as IT Work Requests are captured and delivered to requirement. The role-holder will liaise-with, support and steer other operational, service and enterprise systems team members as required. The role-holder will frequently represent IT within Operational Excellence working parties.
You will work with IT Service and Supply Chain to manage some key volume technology vendors, particularly suppliers of mobile telephone & data and print solutions. Also, the role will work with the Workplace team to coordinate the work of IT Services & IT Operations Platform Services to design and effect low & high side office builds or reorganisations in line with business requirements and available budget.
This role will work with business-appointed PMO to ensure any Roke-acquisition related technology transition tasks required of the IT department are completed in line with the acquisition plan. They will also be the face of IT, providing assurance and guidance throughout the acquisition transition. As a member of the IT PMO team, the role holder will also be assigned responsibility for IT project workstreams and tasks.
Responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of IT work requests, delivering on time, to specification and within budget.
Provide governance and compliance for work request portfolio including reporting and forecasting progress.
Collaborate with other teams to determine necessary activities to successfully deliver IT work requests.
Ensure that suitable resources required to accomplish IT work requests are available.
Convene and record IT work request meetings, as necessary.
Understand and forecast the pipeline of demand.
Delivery of such delegated IT project workstreams or tasks
Contributing to the wider goals of the IT department.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Support the development of IT work request delivery and continuous improvement.
Initiate, build, and sustain productive relationships.
Serve as an escalation point for concerns as they arise relating to IT work requests.
Ensure approach best leverages Rokes resources and strategies to meet customer expectations and demand.
Monitor and manage end-to-end delivery of work requests to scope, time and budget.
Enforce best practices, standard methodologies, processes, and tools.
Provide appropriate management reporting on IT work request status including on ramp and in-flight.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
Proven track record of delivering IT in a complex, changing environment.
Experience of IT delivery focused work and client relationship management in a technology environment.
