Position Overview:
As a SEND Teaching Assistant at Send Inclusion Support, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our students with a wide range of special needs and disabilities. Your experience in moving and handling and providing personal care will be instrumental in helping our students access the curriculum and thrive in their learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide dedicated one-on-one or small group support to students with special needs and disabilities.
* Assist with moving and handling of students, ensuring their safety and comfort.
* Offer personal care support, including toileting, feeding, and other essential tasks.
* Collaborate closely with teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
* Create a positive and inclusive atmosphere where all students feel valued and supported.
* Foster social interactions and promote a sense of belonging among our students.
* Communicate effectively with students, their families, and colleagues.
* Adapt your approach to meet the unique needs of each student.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Proven experience working with children with special needs and disabilities.
* Competency in moving and handling techniques and personal care.
* Passion for supporting children's development and well-being.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
