Job summary

Job Title: Structural Engineer

Location: Southampton

Salary Range: £40,000-£80,000 depending on experience.

Security Clearance: UK SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain.

Our client is a forefront independent consultancy specializing in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. They bring a wealth of experience and Systems Engineering approach to their work, emphasizing a methodical and structured process to address complex challenges in the maritime industry. They are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to support on structural aspects at the concept, basic and detailed design levels.

Responsibilities:

* Oversee and assess the work of junior engineers, drafters, and technicians.

* Provide informed judgments and recommendations on technical matters within their area of expertise.

* Operate independently, collaborate as a team member, or take a leadership role as needed.

* Strictly adhere to quality, safety, and environmental procedures/standards.

* Efficiently manage projects, ensuring alignment with scope, timeline, and quality requirements.

* Demonstrate proficiency in relevant software, systems, and processes.

Skills & Experience:

* Proficient in designing and analysing structures within the marine environment, encompassing ship hulls and onboard systems.

* Experienced in utilizing finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate the structural integrity and performance of marine components and assemblies.

* Capable of generating thorough reports and documentation outlining analysis results and design recommendations.

* Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices pertinent to marine structural engineering.

* Technical Degree/equivalent qualification or experience
