As the Head of Maintenance Services, your job will be to:
Manage maintenance strategies across the business and bringing them to fruition.
Lead, motivate and develop the Maintenance staff.
Identify skills gaps and develop training to empower Maintenance staff.
Set performance objectives and ensure compliance consistency across the business.
Forge key partnerships and manage 3rd party Contractors.
Carry out regular reviews of contracted maintenance services and suppliers to ensure that best value is maintained.
Develop, co-ordinate and implement a planned maintenance programme to be undertaken by maintenance technicians and appointed contractors, as necessary.
Develop and maintain the Departmental Risk Register.
Formulate partnerships with leading suppliers to develop an innovative approach to service delivery to improve efficiency of working methods.
Be responsible for the delivery of an integrated approach to ISD facilities management and Company operations in support of agreed strategy and objectives. Assist with the development of strategies when required.
Be responsible for the proactive preparation of the hard services annual expenditure budgets. Driving costs savings and efficiencies where possible associated with the operational management of the estate and supporting services. Maintain a running log of expenditure.
Work with the finance team to process purchase orders and invoices in line with Company policy.
Assist with the implementation and co-ordination of the college wide sustainability initiatives relating to Maintenance services.
Ensure up to date knowledge of Health & safety legislation is communicated and implemented across the wider team.
Deliver robust risk management in all areas including creating and reviewing risk assessments and method statements for regular and ad hoc works.
Undertake incident and accident investigations to manage risk to ISD and the Business reducing the likelihood of a reoccurrence.
Skills, Experience and Interests required:
Proven experience as a Head of Maintenance Services.
Demonstrable experience of forging key relationships with 3rd party suppliers.
Able to successfully manage a team.
Stays abreast of current Health & Safety legislation.
Flexible, adaptable and approachable.
A team player.
