An opportunity has arisen at Doddiscombsleigh Primary School for an enthusiastic, talented, resilient and committed person to encourage, motivate and support children in school. School work is rewarding and satisfying with no two days the same. You will ultimately be part of a team ensuring a safe and happy learning environment for all children.
This is a fixed term post initially leading to a permanent position for the right individual depending on the need of the school. The post is 22 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term time only and will include covering as a mealtime assistant. To start as soon as possible.
As a Teaching Assistant you will need to be calm but firm and enjoy working with children, having a minimum qualification at GCSE Maths and English. Experience of working in a classroom situation or a qualification as a Teaching Assistant, NVQ2 or NVQ3 would be ideal. We are looking for someone who can continue to liaise and build relationships with parents and families and, therefore, good and courteous communication skills are a necessity. The curriculum work will be prepared by the teacher and as with all teaching assistant posts you may be required to work throughout all areas of the school.
