The Organisation:

A responsible and progressive charity, aiming to provide social justice and support to vulnerable groups of people across the UK; victims of domestic violence, ex-offenders, young people, people with mental health difficulties and those struggling with substance misuse. They are a well-established organisation with a positive market reputation and over 20 years of experience in supported living.

This company are currently operating supported housing services for rehabilitating ex-offenders that have left a prison setting. The service ensures the instilling of independent living skills, positive wellbeing and personal development within ex-offenders, working towards their bettering of life and prevention of repeat offending.

The Opportunities:
Housing Support Workers will be working part-time; 20 hours per week, typically between Monday and Friday however there may be flexibility on this.
Competitive pay rates; Housing Support Workers are paid £16.53 (Umbrella), per hour. You will also be paid £0.45 per mile for travel between services.
Contract length will be 6-months before prospective extension and/or permanence.
You will be based across multiple projects across Canterbury and Margate, Kent.
Administration work can be completed in a flexible location, with state-of-the-art IT equipment provided for all work.
The Responsibilities:
As a Housing Support Worker, you will be required to visit each property various times each week, conducting support sessions with service users in line with the appropriate requirements.
Supporting clients in their accessing opportunities to claim benefits and housing pathways, as well as sign posting them to local agencies and service providers, in line with their needs.
Assisting clients in their ability to conduct income management and assist them in their tenancy sustainment through various methods.
You will be supporting service-users in their general housing management, ensuring the properties are maintained to the client standards. Meetings with contractors and assisting in the turnaround of void properties will also fall under this category.
Support Workers will provide emotional support and monitor the wellbeing of clients living within the supported housing services.
The Requirements:
Housing Support Workers must be someone with a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle, and either already have or obtain business/commercial insurance for said vehicle.
Experience in supporting clients / service-users with complex needs is essential.
Proactive and able to use their own initiative to manage a caseload.
Previous experience or knowledge of social/supported housing processes is essential.
The ability to support others in their tenancy sustainment and income management.
The Desirables:
Relevant training to housing or health and social care.
Over 3 years experience within a relevant position i.e., Support Worker.
Understanding of housing law and framework relevant to those with complex needs.
