Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking company, is seeking a talented and motivated individual with a background in software engineering who is eager to transition into the exciting realm of Microsoft Dynamics. As a Senior Developer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of Business Central (BC) and Dynamics NAV systems, driving full lifecycle application development, and fostering a culture of best practice design and code patterns.Responsibilities:
System Maintenance and Development:
* Act as a senior developer overseeing the functionality of BC/NAV systems and development projects.
* Conduct full lifecycle application development, including designing, coding, and debugging applications within Business Central and/or Dynamics NAV.
* Uphold best practice design and code patterns to ensure the efficiency and scalability of systems.
Team Collaboration and Leadership:
* Conduct code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to coding standards.
* Coach and mentor junior team members to enhance their skills and contribute to their professional growth.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements and align development efforts accordingly.
* Problem Analysis and Resolution:
* Investigate, analyze, and document reported defects, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
* Perform maintenance programming and corrections to address identified defects and enhance system performance.
* Business Integration:
* Work closely with the business to translate requirements into functional systems, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Testing and Documentation:
* Create, document, and implement unit test plans, scripts, and test harnesses to ensure the reliability of developed systems.
* Generate and maintain technical documentation using predefined templates to facilitate seamless knowledge transfer and future system enhancements.
Technology Evaluation:
* Evaluate, identify, and recommend appropriate new technologies for implementation, staying abreast of industry trends and advancements.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in software development, with a strong understanding of programming languages.
* Familiarity or willingness to retrain in Microsoft Dynamics BC/NAV.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Leadership experience with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
* Familiarity with best practice design and coding patterns.
Working Arrangement: 2 Days a Week onsite in Chester
Salary: £40k - £60k
