Role Purpose:
The role aims to enhance ongoing manufacturing operations and facilitate the integration of novel products and processes, contributing to business expansion. Technical and engineering expertise are harnessed to achieve this goal. The primary scope of work revolves around steel and aluminium processing and fabrication. Proficiencies in laser cu!ng, pressing, bending, welding, polishing, painting, and assembly are crucial due to the nature of the business.
Main Duties:
Aid in the introduction of new products by interpreting and processing CAD data, generating 2D drawings, DXF files, and creating drawings to support critical processes like laser cu!ng and brake pressing.
Provide support in specifying new jigs, tooling, equipment, as well as in product and process design. Strategize, develop, coordinate, implement, and facilitate the transision of manufacturing processes from engineering to production, achieving benchmarks for output, quality, and efficiency.
Extend technical assistance to production and engineering personnel regarding the operation and maintenance of jigs, tooling, and assembly equipment.
Analyse and report on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, machine availability, and waste management, with the aim of driving process improvements.
Contribute to the integration and effective use of robotics and automation to enhance throughput and efficiency.
Uphold adherence to APQP documentation, systems, and procedures consistently. Take the lead in activities such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA.
Offer complete support to the RFQ process to ensure comprehensive coverage of business requirements.
Develop Project Timing Plans and oversee the timely execution of projects.
Maintain unwavering compliance with Health & Safety and Quality Management Systems requirements.
Play an active role in training and developing associates as necessitated.
Qualifications:
Ideally, candidates should possess qualifications in an engineering discipline or have extensive relevant experience in a similar capacity.
Proficiency in relevant CAD packages (e.g., Catia, SolidWorks, etc.) is a must.
Demonstrated ability in introducing novel equipment, jigs, tooling, and processes.
Knowledge of robocs and automation in manufacturing is an advantageous asset.
A quality-focused approach along with adeptness in analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
Effective time management and strong communication skills.
Display competent leadership and teamwork capabilities, collaborating with internal cross-functional teams and external clients
