Post title - Training and Development ManagerDivision - Business Administration Team
Reporting to Business Administration Senior Manager
Post Definition/Purpose
The post holder will assist with the continual development of a market leading training and development system, in line with the requirements of ISO30422 (HRM Learning and Development Management Systems).
The Training & Development Manager shall assist in developing Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for key roles within the company and liaising with Departmental managers on skill gap analysis studies and skill up programmes.
The Training & Development Manager will also research, source and arrange third party internal and external training activities in support of the business requirements.
The Training & Development Manager will oversee the G-TEM Apprentice Programme including liaising with training providers. This aspect of the role also includes coordinating pastoral support of apprentices, overseeing their education development and liaising with the departments they are seconded to within G-TEM.
Key Responsibilities
Determine the organization wide employee training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed to support the department and business.
Map out training plans, design and develop training programs.
Create training materials and programs to address specific business objectives.
Market available training opportunities to employees and provide necessary information
Assist with the design and preparing educational materials.
Writing reports, keeping records updated and managing training budgets.
Working with employees and department managers to ensure the achievement of training objectives.
Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and success of training systems/programs and summaries evaluation reports determining the impact of training on employee skills and how it affects KPIs.
Keeping up-to-date on the latest trends, developments and best practices.
Identifying and implementing a wide range of training techniques to improve efficiency and returns on investment.
Managing employee enrolment for training, schedule training sessions and organizing the resource to facilitate training programs.
Organise and support the work experience process liaising with schools and colleges.
Ensure the correct training requisition process is used for all training.
Raising purchase orders for training activities and materials.
Skills & Abilities
Proven working experience in developing, coordinating and implementing multiple training events in a corporate setting
Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
Adequate knowledge of learning management systems and web delivery tools
Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods and techniques
Ability to track the performance of training programs, write reports and recommend strategies for improvement.
MS Office proficiency
Advanced organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
Self-motivated with strong communication skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organization, planning and time management skills
Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications, Experience & Personal Profile
National qualification (L4 or higher) in Education, Training, HR or related field would be an advantage.
Chartered member of CIPD an advantage.
A background in a manufacturing setting would be an advantage
Enthusiastic individual who can see concurrent tasks through to completion.
Ability to communicate with customers, employees and suppliers.
Ability to work on several projects at one time whilst ensuring all deadlines are met
Practical, down to earth with a determination to resolve problems.
Creative, lateral thinker with a passion for Training and Development.
Flexible attitude towards work
Full UK driving license as travel to other G-TEM facilities in South Wales.
