We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical Deputy Manager at our vibrant and fun residential care home in Clos Parc Morgannwg, Cardiff, CF11 , supporting 15 young adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental health needs
Clinical Deputy Manager Role
* The role of the Clinical Deputy Manager is to assist the Registered Manager with the day-to-day organisation and effective running of the service, providing clinical leadership and management support for the nursing and care support staff teams.
* To support the Registered Manager by managing clinical risks within the service, developing, and monitoring the clinical and non-clinical training and development needs of staff and maintaining a safe and healthy work and home environment.
* To assist the Registered Manager to deliver an effective and efficient provision of support to the people living within the services. The overall objective is to increase their social development and life skills to enable them to live as independent adults in the wider community.
* To ensure that support delivered considers the individuals racial, culture/religious origins, language, gender, sexual orientation, and disability.
* To act as a champion for clients safety and dignity.
* To lead on infection control within the service and provide advice to the service manager and staff accordingly.
Clinical Deputy Manager Key Responsibilities:
· To ensure that the care, welfare, and safety of all clients in the service is of the highest possible standard, taking full responsibility for adherence to statutory regulations.
· To support the Registered Manager to monitor and support the delivery of person centred services to all people using our service within your defined area.
· Maintain own professional and personal development in accordance with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code, standards, and guidelines.
· To support the Registered Manager to monitor and support the health and safety of both people using the service and support staff.
· Ensure safe and effective practice by adhering to statutory guidance for practice requirements and standards. For example: safe handling, administration, storage, and custody of medicinal products.
· To support the Registered Manager to ensure that the actions of all staff directly supporting people using the service support their care, protection, and well-being, and in compliance with external regulations, standards and monitoring bodies.
· To provide supervision to the nurses through effective recruitment and selection, inductions, coaching and performance management.
· Ensure evidence-based practice is provided to agreed standards within the organisation and service area.
· To develop knowledge and skill of staff teams through delivering effective inductions, including the Care Certificate, and providing mandatory & service specific training as and when required.
· To manage and develop clinical training / skills and competency framework throughout the service.
· To support regular clinical supervisions liaising with our Divisional Clinical Lead.
· To use the IT system available to support the Registered Manager to effectively manage staff teams, incidents, quality assurance, training and occupancy.
· To work effectively with external agencies to promote the work of the company and to support the Registered Manager to increase referrals and placements within the service in line with defined business targets.
· To develop own knowledge and practice relative to continuous service improvement & self-development.
Clinical Deputy Manager Requirements
* Registered nurse with valid NMC Pin Number. Essential
* You are currently a Deputy Manager or in a Senior Support Role (with 3 years experience in a similar role)
* Experience of working with individuals with communication difficulties and physical difficulties is desirable.
* A sound working knowledge and understanding of CQC Regulations and Standards, the Mental Capacity Act and the Deprivation of Liberty Standards
* The successful candidate will need to show a high level of commitment and flexibility in the role and be able to work closely with the Registered Manager and staff team to ensure the very best outcomes are achieved for the individuals residing at the home.
