Company Profile:

A leading packaging supplier based in Northants, due to continued success and growth, are looking to recruit a Technical Value engineer to join their expanding Technical Services Team.

Title:

Technical Value Engineer

Job Purpose:

Work in line with the company Vision and Mission.

Work closely with account managers and other key stakeholders to grow existing accounts and win new business.

Use Lean techniques to generate cost effective solutions to customer issues.

Provide innovative design solutions to existing & new customers.

Contribute to design activities in order to meet company targets for growth, retention and profitability.

Work alongside other technical team members, in order to ensure KPI targets are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with key accounts, developing relationships with key stakeholders.

Provide feedback & advice to customers, account managers or other stakeholders on best fit packaging solutions.

Provide innovative ideas & designs to generate direct/indirect savings.

Take design briefs from customers, account managers or other stakeholders.

Generate production samples using AG CAD software.

Provide written reports to support proposals, either in Word or Excel format.

Manage multiple projects from multiple stakeholders to achieve required deadlines.

Test packaging specifications on demand & provide associated written reports to stakeholders.

Carry out testing of proposed solutions to ensure fit for purpose status prior to full introduction.

Maintain Tech dept records to standards required.

Provide information & advice to other colleagues on request.

Ability to work under own initiative, ensuring required deadlines are met.

Maintain effective communications and good working relationships with all internal and external teams, particularly operations and sales to ensure maximum customer service levels are achieved.

Arranges work schedules and prioritises work to meet deadlines. Seeks clarification and approval where appropriate before commences new projects or working methods.

Flexibility

Willingness to work extra hours or help out in areas outside of role. Use of initiative to ensure tasks are completed. Supportive of manager and wider team goals and objectives.

Carry out any reasonable request by the business

Technical Skills

Experience in CAD design within a packaging sector. Computer Literate, numerate,

Qualifications & Experience:

Experience of achieving customer savings through reengineering and/or establishment of new ways of working.

Project management experience.

Good communication skills

Understanding of business-to-business sales environment, particularly in a high volume, low margin context

Salary:

Up to £35,000 depending on experience plus company car.
