GSL Education is seeking a Qualified Teacher of English to work at Client Secondary Schools in Watford, starting immediately. As a Teacher of English, you will teach GCSE students a combination of English Language and English Literature. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers seeking a flexible work-life balance or who simply want to gain new experience.
Responsibilities
As an English Teacher, you will:
Engage Students in Literature: Plan and deliver captivating English lessons that explore a range of literary texts, fostering critical thinking and analytical skills in students.
Develop Language Skills: Nurture students' reading, writing, listening, and speaking abilities, equipping them with the tools to express themselves effectively and confidently in English.
Differentiated Instruction: Differentiate instruction to meet the individual learning needs of students, providing support and challenges where necessary to ensure progress for all learners.
Assessment and Progress Tracking: Assess student performance regularly, providing constructive feedback, and monitoring their progress to inform further teaching and intervention strategies.
Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, managing student behaviour effectively, and promoting a culture of respect, collaboration, and active participation.
Requirements
To thrive as an English Teacher, you should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, showcasing your expertise and qualification to teach English.
As a English Teacher you should have a deep passion for English language and literature, and the ability to inspire students with your enthusiasm and subject knowledge.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organizational and planning abilities, enabling you to deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that cater to the diverse needs of learners.
A commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and a love for literature in students.
Hold a DBS registered to the update service or apply through GSL Education.
