What Are We Looking For
Owing to continued sustainable growth, our in-house Design team is looking for Senior Mechanical Design Engineers to join the established team in Aberdeen, working within our Asset Management and Technical Services business. You will take on a fully supported leading role in all aspects of projects, from scoping and detailed design through to implementation, ensuring compliance with client specifications and current regulatory standards, with a strong focus on low-carbon solutions.
Some of your key duties include:
- Oversee design aspects of projects from inception to implantation.
- Ensure compliance with Client specification and current regulatory standards.
- Develop design deliverables.
- Complete checking and approval processes.
- Arrange procurement of goods and services.
- Prepare work scope estimates/quotations.
- Assemble contract works information documents.
- Consider project health and safety, quality and environmental matters.
- Liaise with all key stakeholders for the projects.
- Implement project change control and programme requirements.
- Take responsibility as Design Lead on allocated projects.
What do you need?
As an experienced Engineer, the ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge both in the design and operation of water and wastewater projects (or similar). Ideally you will be able to demonstrate prior experience of leading a small team of mechanical engineers and possess excellent problem-solving abilities to meet client specific requirements.
- Mechanical design engineering experience within municipal water/wastewater is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in process engineering or a similar industry environment.
- Experience of working in a multidiscipline design team.
- Design management experience is highly desirable.
- Programme/financial management is highly desirable.
- Experience of working at all design stages, from optioneering/FEED through to construction support and As-Built is highly desirable.
- Experience of plant commissioning and/or plant operation is preferrable.
- Chartered engineer with a relevant professional body is preferrable.
- Possess the ability to work on multiple projects consecutively.
