FUNCTION PURPOSE:
To assist to improve and standardize the work methods, procedures and technical standards which meet clients, and NOVs specifications and HSE mindset, to execute valves tasks more efficiently.
To review and ensure that the correct valves are selected according to specifications, product type and Process needs.
To provide expertise in Valves solutions to Valves engineers, Mechanical engineers and Process engineers.
To contribute to the engineering team to create a good working environment and a strong team spirit.
Be mentor and provide discipline expertise to engineers in Valves discipline area tasks
FUNCTION OBJECTIVES:
Efficient selection of valves (service, size, material) and quantity often in the form of valve listing/data set. This valve listing/data set will normally be based on a database solution which is normally in turn connected to intelligent P&IDs.
To assist Supply Chain team to inquire and procure the correct valves in assigned projects.
Support to: supply management, detail engineering development, Quality Surveillance,valves Suppliers follow-up.
Ensure delivery of documents and key interface information according to the project Master Document List and to project engineering plan
Competencies and manning:
Work as- or in support of- package responsible engineer (PRE) for valve packages when mobilized to projects or tenders.
Technical support to tenders, recommend the appropriate products on projects, bids and proposals.
Prepare all necessary documentation needed for procurement and use of valves.
Review supplier documentation in relation to procurement and fabrication.
Follow up fabrication and testing at suppliers or brief relevant third-party engineers/inspectors when using them for valves related inspections.
FORMAL COMPETENCE, PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in relevant disciplines BSc, as a minimum.
Minimum 5 years relevant work experience as package responsible engineer.
Experience and knowledge within area of responsibility.
Strong communication skills.
Strong technical understanding and experience with engineering and project execution methods.
General understanding of supply chain methods.
Quality and detail focused.
Ability to identify potential issues/problems and apply effective solutions as required.
Experience with mechanical/structural products or technology.
Understanding of materials selection, valves end, trim and Piping class.
Gain and maintain current knowledge of industry standards and design codes (i.e API, ISO, NORSOK).
