The Role
* To carry out installation, maintenance, fault finding and repairs on a range of electrical systems.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns and planned maintenance work
* To identify root causes wherever possible and to communicate with relevant personnel.
* Responsible for correct wiring of high value equipment and machinery.
* Use of PLC system control and manipulation of programme, including fault finding and enquiries and follow up. Commissioning and reading drawings.
* Report danger of faulty equipment and electrical installations through formal record system
* Uphold safe working practices at all times observing instructions, procedures, permits, safety systems, lock offs and other protocols applicable.
* To record activities as directed
* Must be willing to undertake forklift truck and overhead crane training.
* Assist in the development of new starters and trainees.
The Person:
* Electrical qualification, for example, Apprenticeship, City and Guilds, BS 7671 - 18th Edition
* Good maintenance knowledge and fault-finding skills
* Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental requirements and ability to conform to stringent procedures and work within strict health and safety practices
* Accuracy and competency required in making connections, attaching leads, circuit testing
* Reliable and flexible attitude to work
* Excellent communication skills, able to build relationships with colleagues, suppliers & contractors
* Knowledge of diecasting, CNC machines and robots would be advantageous
