Job summary
The Company:We are working with a long established, highly successful, cash rich, regional Building contractor who have created an excellent reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects mainly for Private Sector clients across the North West of England.
Their turnover in the NW has grown year on year and is now comfortably above £100 Million. They take on projects valued up to £50 Million typically in the commercial, industrial, care, leisure, retail, education and multi storey residential sectors.
A good proportion of their work is repeat, negotiated business and as a cash rich, profitable, privately owned business they don't have to buy work to please shareholders.
The Role:
On account of a number of recent work wins and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to oversee all on site construction activities, the safety and wellbeing of all staff, cost control and programme with a view to achieving first class delivery.
General duties will include;
Monitor delivery of the project, identifying risk and opportunities and working with key stakeholders to optimise project delivery
Lead the delivery of construction works, ensuring compliance with all company processes and protocols
Manage and develop the supervisory and engineering team
Ensure that HS&E targets and KPIs are set and managed
Overall ownership of Handover Documentation for Sections of works completed
Chair weekly team leader meetings to review strategic performance on site, report progress and reasons for difference within Project Review meetings
Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure all common objectives are being met
Work closely with the Commercial team to align targets and KPI's in line with budget forecast
plan and coordinate trades activities
Interpret drawings and specification and communicate directions to site personnel, Subcontractors and suppliers
Requisition materials
Ensure that adequate method statements and risk assessments (RAs) are completed
Request outstanding information from the team and confirm all verbal instructions
Attend site meetings, subcontract and internal meetings - maintain and circulate notes and action points
Monitor customer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement
Snag work before presentation to the client
Arrange for the rectification of defects found
You:
Have at least 5 years site management experience with a main contractor, working on building projects valued between £10 and £20 million
Be a strong leader with the confidence to lead management teams on construction projects
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England.
