Are you highly organised with excellent administration skills? Then join Shelter as a Legal Administrator and you could soon be playing a vital role ensuring our legal team have the administrative support they need to help more people whose housing rights are at risk or denied.
A home is a fundamental human need, as essential as education or healthcare. Yet millions of people across Britain struggle on a daily basis with homelessness, bad housing conditions, soaring rents, discrimination and the threat of eviction. So, we are striving for change - with individuals, in communities, across society - and leading the way to a safe home. This is your chance to play a part in the fundamental change we are striving to achieve.
Our hubs are at the heart of the community and are bases for activism as well as help and support. This is a great opportunity to join a very busy centre and be part of a team that want to bring about change at a local level as well as contribute to national change.

About the Role
As a Legal Administrator, you'll carry out a range of important duties, including assisting the legal team in ensuring administrative, client file, financial and quality systems run smoothly and updating systems. You will also assist with billing files and maintaining the team's financial records, plus provide full support to the team and the Managing Solicitor, including taking telephone calls, typing, data entry and diary management. Undertaking other general administrative duties, such as copying, scanning, archiving, and processing invoices, is also essential.

About you
Your outstanding administrative and organisational skills will be critical to your success in this role. You will have ideally worked in a legal or accounts environment so you are used to legal documents and financial billing, but training can be given. You're proactive, creative and commercially aware with great written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working as part of a busy team.

Benefits
We offer a wide range of benefits, including 30 days of annual leave, enhanced family friendly policies, pension and interest free travel loans. Our employees also have access to a tenancy deposit loan, payroll giving, cycle to work scheme and an employee assistance programme.
Shelter helps millions of people every year struggling with bad housing or homelessness through our advice, support and legal services. And we campaign to make sure that, one day, no one will have to turn to us for help. We're here so no one has to fight bad housing or homelessness on their own.
