Pay Range/details: Up to circa £55,000

An outstanding opportunity has emerged with our defence client in the Propulsion Department for a Senior Engineer to lead rocket motor activities supporting a weapons program.
This role involves supporting ongoing production, increasing production capacity, managing obsolescence, qualifying, and validating rocket motors in development, and overseeing concept design for the next generation of products.
Youll be employed in Bristol, with the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis where possible, with flexible hours.
Due to the sensitive nature of the work within this role, you must be a British National and be able to obtain SC or DV clearance.
This role will require 2 days per week on site, on average.
Key Responsibilities Propulsion Lead Engineer
Accountable for delivering propulsion subsystem key project milestones, budget management, reporting Propulsion activities to the customer, and developing a robust PSS program plan.
Lead internal stakeholders and propulsion subsystem Design Authorities to manage and deliver agreed work packages across all program phases.
Serve as the technical interface between the Design Authority and internal stakeholders, ensuring equipment consistency with system performance and project commitments.
Liaise with customer organizations, managing the political environment to align priorities and approaches with the technical direction of propulsion developments.
Manage technical interface with the Equipment Design Authority, including acceptance of delivery.
Support equipment integration at the system level and assess the capability of the Equipment Design Authority.
Conduct formal design reviews with stakeholders to verify progress and accept solutions through the program.
Build networks, strong relationships, and influence stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements Propulsion Lead Engineer
Technical knowledge of Solid Rocket Motor design, qualification, and manufacturing.
Leadership skills with well-developed planning and organizational capabilities.
Program management expertise, including work tasks, budget, risk and opportunities, and subcontracts.
Ability to define, re-engineer, and review processes.
Negotiating and influencing skills.
Extensive business knowledge of customers, competitors, and suppliers.
Reputation management with customer stakeholders, collaborators, and suppliers.
Good judgment and initiative.
Understanding of policies and standards.
Highly developed communication skills, including awareness and understanding of cultural differences with the ability to adapt accordingly.
