Job summary
Prospero Teaching are working with a well-regarded Primary School in Brighton who are looking to appoint a learning support assistant who has previous experience in a similar role and who have a passion for working in a primary school.This role will include working 1:1 with a child, small group intervention work and providing general classroom support to the teacher.
The successful candidate will need to have:
Experience of supporting pupils who have complex behavioural needs.
Excellent interpersonal skills with both pupils and school staff.
High expectations of learning and of themselves.
The ability to work independently, and pro-actively without immediate supervision at all times.
Be a patient, calm, and well organised person with an understanding of how to bring out the full potential of children.
Have good levels of personal energy as well as a commitment to the role and enthusiasm to support others.
The ability to build positive relationships with children and faculty staff.
Some experience of supporting SEND children would be preferable but is not essential.In return the school will offer full support and training should you wish to further your career in education.
Although this role would initially be on a temporary contract basis through Prospero Teaching, the opportunity certainly has the potential to become a permanent job for the right match.
