About the client:Our client is a respected & expanding company providing a 'one stop shop' for the successful implementation of Biotechnology & Pharmaceutical projects from design through to completion. The sectors they work in include;
Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Universities, Healthcare, Medical Schools, The Aerospace Industry, Microelectronics, Research Laboratories (Including CAT III Facilities and ACDP), Battery Manufacturing Facilities and Various Engineering and critical environment projects
Role Overview:
We are seeking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced M&E Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the dynamic commercial team based in South Manchester. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of construction projects. Your expertise in quantity surveying, cost management, and contract administration will contribute to the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Management:
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.
* Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
* Monitor and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle.
Contract Administration:
* Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
* Collaborate with project teams to resolve contractual and commercial issues.
* Prepare and review variations, claims, and other contractual documentation.
Risk Management:
* Identify, assess, and manage project risks related to cost and contracts.
* Implement risk mitigation strategies and maintain accurate risk registers.
* Provide timely reporting on potential risks and their impact on project finances.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Foster positive relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
* Collaborate with project managers to ensure effective communication on financial matters.
* Attend regular project meetings and contribute valuable insights to project delivery.
Reporting:
* Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports to management.
* Provide regular updates on project financial status, highlighting any deviations from the budget.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying.
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry, with a focus on MEP services.
* Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
