Job summary
BDS are currently recruiting to offer someone a once in a lifetime opportunity to relocate to the incredible Falkland Islands and support managing a brand new state of the art supported living complex.The service is the first and only one of it's kind on the island and is to provide support with respite, end of life and domiciliary care.
Your role will allow you to help put your own stamp on and run your own supported living service within the complex that comprises of 37 self contained flats on a permanent basis.
The relocation package you'll receive alongside this amazing opportunity will include;

You do not need to be CQC registered to be considered for the role but are looking for someone with experience in a similar field such as managing care services and working with older adults.
The main duties of this role will include but won't be limited too;
* Leading on the development, and ensure the effective implementation and embedding of, robust care and management strategies for the Home to ensure a safe, well run caring environment for residents.

Working in conjunction with the Director of Health and Social Services, (DHSS), the Chief Nursing Officer, (CNO) and the Community Support Team Manager, (CSTM) realise and embed appropriate Standards to be practiced across service; which are to be delivered in an assured manner.

Provide leadership and act as a role model for all categories of staff within the Care Facility and in the development and delivery of care plans to achieve a culture of continuous improvement.

Provide overall people management, support and development for all Care Home staff, inclusive of the CSTM, (the clinical lead for care) and all non-clinical leads of services within the Home. This will include, but not be limited to, ensuring effective recruitment, performance management and staff development, timely management of conduct and capability issues and the effective deployment of staff, (including creating work schedules and rosters), as necessary.

Ensure good communication and co-operation exists between all members of Care Home staff and with wider departmental and FIG colleagues, (along with Agency workers/sub-contractors etc), involved in the service provision to enable them to achieve their goals as they relate to effectively fulfilling their duties.

Ensure that all staff are appropriately trained to meet all legal, competency, safeguarding and continuous improvement requirements. This may include, but is not limited to, supervising the organisation of training & Development sessions for staff within the Home, delivering training as required and arranging for staff to attend external courses as appropriate to carry out their roles competently and confidently
