An excellent opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join a Nottingham based retailer, overseeing a property portfolio of 60 sites across the UK.
This is a field based role travelling to sites across the UK. However a presence in their Nottingham head office will also be required.
Description
Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing Health & Safety / Compliance for 60 sites across the UK including; head office, retail units and a distribution centre.
Responsible for all policies, practices and operations for Health and Safety functions within Group operations
Promote a positive Health & Safety culture by developing and implementing effective management systems and ensuring legal compliance
Provide appropriate risk assessment methodology to comply with legislation and ensure all potential risks are identified and control measures implemented and monitored
Perform regular audits and track H&S KPI performance
Lead any necessary accident/incident investigation and reporting.
Provide appropriate risk assessment methodology to comply with legislation and ensure all potential risks are identified and control measures implemented and monitored
Chairing Health & Safety committee meetings
Keeping up to date with new legislation
Liaising with officials from the regulatory authorities.
Carrying out fire drills; and ensure that fire wardens/marshals are appointed and trained
Advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases.
Conduct Health and Safety inductions for new employees' and refreshers for existing employees.
Coordinating / monitoring of First Aid Training
To conduct formal investigations when requestedProfile
Experience managing Health & Safety / Compliance across a multi-site portfolio. Ideally within a retail / logistics setting
IOSH / NEBOSH certification
Able to deliver training to
Excellent communication skills
Full UK driving licenceJob Offer
