Teaching Personnel are looking for an enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a Secondary School in Newport. We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to take on this exciting, full time role within the school teaching pupils between the ages of 11-16.
The role of the Higher Level Teaching Assistant is to complement the work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short term for whole classes and monitoring pupils and assessing, recording and reporting on pupils achievement, progress and development. They will be responsible for the management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
Experience in this sector is a must to apply for this position.
The school are looking to take the successful candidate onto a full-time school contract.
Key Responsibilities of a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils learning.
Establish productive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model with positive values, attitudes and behaviour and setting high expectations to raise their educational achievement.
Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils within the classroom showing respect and dignity regardless of social, cultural, linguistic, religious and ethnic backgrounds.
Support pupils consistently as lifelong learners whilst recognising and responding to their individual needs.
Encourage pupils to interact and work co-operatively with others and engage all pupils in activities.
Communicate effectively and sensitively with pupils to support their learning.
Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.
Organise and manage appropriate learning environment and resources that meet the diversity of pupils needs and interests.
Requirements:
Enhanced DBS clearance, registered on the update service (or willingness to apply).
EWC registration (or willingness to apply).
Ability to provide 2 recent references.
Right to work in the UK, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
