Job summary
We are working very closely with a recognised foodie client based in Cheshire (turnover around £32m) and as a result we are now looking to appoint a; Business Development ExecutivePurpose: The overall purpose of the role is to develop and implement an effective Sales and Business Development Strategy to drive short, medium and long term profitable sales growth, effective leadership and direction for the Sales Team.
Main Responsibilities:
As part of the Management Team responsible for managing Sales across the business
Achieve sales budgets which have been set and agreed with the Managing Director.
Agree pricing and volumes with customer to ensure continued growth.
Lead sales strategy which will be implemented in conjunction with other departments.
Provide effective leadership and direction for the Sales and Customer Service teams ensuring both individuals and team's performance is developed in order for a first-class service to be delivered.
Analyse and develop existing accounts.
Regular visits to key customer decision makers and build strong commercial relationships with its customers.
Provide accurate sales analysis and reporting on a weekly & monthly basis detailing for example, sales activity, variances and corrective action, NPD and market intelligence.
Manage stock holding and review weekly with the Managing Director.
Actively participate in new product developments.
Develop costing and pricing models for new products.
Work closely with the NPD Chef, Technical Manager and Factory Manager on development of all new innovative products from concept through to launch.Key Skills / Experience:
Demonstrable knowledge of the Foodservice market place and / or the public house chain and restaurants
Must have experience working within a very fast paced food sector ideally with a meat background
A natural leader who can motivate and develop teams of people
A proven track record of profitable business development and sales growth.
Ability to interpret, understand and act on financial data to achieve customer solutions.
Excellent IT literacy
Strong teamwork ethic
A very high level of organisational capability
Commercial acumen, with numeracy skills and familiarity with budgets and P&L's.
A strong communicator with the ability to work with and influence at all levels.
Excellent written and presentation skills
