Job summary
Description: As a Water Tightness Analysis Engineer, you are within a department that is responsible for Total Vehicle Quality and Launch Viability. The workload can be identified via quality functions, build specialists, dynamic or static testing, process and or Aftersales department. The day to day activities (core responsibilities) will include;* Conduct complex root cause analysis using a variety of tools, techniques and methodologies.
* Propose, verify, and implement measures for both containment and permanent actions.
* Issue detailed reports of findings.
* Monitor series production.
* New model launch viability.
KEY INTERFACES:
Engineering, Parts Quality, Quality, Test & Finish, Body in White both local and within the network, Central departments in Germany
Key area of Responsibility
* Complex problem analysis, solving production and launch issues
* Series production to ensure line problems are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner so that rework / scrap costs are kept to a minimum
* B.I.W. (Body in White) Solving production and launch issues
* Problem definition and reporting of root cause.
* Pre-series total vehicle validation for the function of water tightness (ATG)
DIMENSIONS [facts and figures regarding the role]:
* Series root cause analysis, typically three vehicles per week.
* Launch viability checks, typically two vehicles per week during development build phase.
* Purchasing equipment, typically once every month ensuring in line with budget planning.
DECISIONS:
* The key things that the role has to make decisions on:
* Containment actions for production / launch problems
* Permanent actions for production / launch line
* Other decisions the role has a significant say in:
* A launch critical item identified during the development build phase or launch phase
* Wide scope of experience of all vehicle components
Skills
* Significant experience in a measurement/analysis environment, with a focus on low to medium volume manufacturing.
* An HND or Degree in a Mechanical/Production Engineering discipline or a Solid automotive engineering background (5 plus years)
* Working knowledge of CATIA
* Proven detailed report writing and presentation skills
* Proven ability to read Engineering drawings
* Proficiency in English
* Proficiency in German (Preferred, not mandatory)
