Grafton Recruitment are actively recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to join our client team based in Southampton. The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring a Regulatory Compliant and safe operations and will be leading a diverse team of Supervisors and Depot & Terminal based drivers.
THE ROLE:
Some of your responsibilities as an Operations Manager are listed below:
Ensure compliant, efficient and effective operation with a strong focus on Health and Safety.
People focused management professional experienced with driver.
Keep high level of engagement and communication with all stakeholders and regularly visit depots in Hampshire, West London, and Dorset.
Maintain 100% compliance with the O Licence Undertakings as a Transport Manager.
Provide leadership through the SHEQ committee
Analytical skills required to optimise and analyse Productivity Performance across resources to maximise results while delivering a first-class customer service and minimise Lost Productivity through key Root Causes.
Implement robust systems and a capable team to ensure smooth operations and support future growth. This may include new depot and terminal locations, plus the supporting operational infrastructure.
Deliver training across business in relation to Inductions, Professional Development, and promoting a Safety Culture.THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Operation Manager:
Demonstrable years' experience in Fleet& Transport Management, Operations Management.
Strong knowledge of Health and Safety rules/ IOSH/NEBOSH training qualification is desirable.
Possess valid CPC Transport Manager Qualification.
In depth knowledge of the Goods Vehicle (Licensing of Operators) Act 1995.
Responsible, creative, and meticulous in their work.
A progressive and proven operations professional with HGV experience.
Capable of demonstrating a high level of initiative and be able to communicate effectively with staff and management teams. Highly Resilient in high pressure situations.
Willing to learn and develop while supporting the professional development of others through coaching or knowledge sharing.
Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
Proactive and prominent attitude towards safety and controls.
FORS Practitioner - Highly Desirable or to be obtained within 6 months of commencement
PRINCE2 - Desirable
Full driving license (HGV 2 Desirable)COMMUTABLE FROM:
