Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teaching Assistant to join our team and work in a Pupil Referral Unit located in Liverpool. This is a challenging yet rewarding role, where you will play a vital part in the education and development of young individuals with SEMH needs. We are looking for someone who is passionate, resilient, and empathetic, capable of making a significant impact on the lives of these students.

Position: SEMH Teaching Assistant

Location: Liverpool

Type: Full-Time, Long Term

Contract Duration: Until at least Christmas, with potential for extension

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the development and implementation of tailored education plans.
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Effectively manage and de-escalate challenging situations.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver a holistic approach to education.
Offer emotional support and encouragement to help students build confidence and self-esteem.Requirements:

Previous experience working with children or adults with SEMH needs is essential.
Strong resilience and the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
A caring and empathetic approach to supporting students.
A genuine passion for making a positive impact on the lives of young individuals.
