In a NutshellWe have a great opportunity for a Technical Manager to join our team within Vistry Services, at our Brentwood office. This is an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager working within our Special Projects division managing fire safety remediation on legacy projects across the Group. This will be an integrated technical role with both technical & project management aspects. Professional qualification from recognised institution e.g., ONC/HNC, NVQ in Construction
Extensive experience within the built environment
Conversant with building regulations and CDM Regulations, and Health and Safety.
Co-ordinate project teams throughout the planning and development process monitoring progress to ensure the delivery of projects on time and in budget.
Ensure all co-ordination issues relating to tenders and contract issues are implemented between design team construction team, employer's agent and client.
Manage the technical and design process of the project from Site investigation and briefing through Planning Consent to Practical Completion.
Providing technical advice on the feasibility of projects, determining constraints and advising on budgets, phasing and timing.
Produce, monitor and update development fees & utility costs budgets and cash flows for all project phases.
Process monthly technical invoices.
Liaise with Estimators, Surveyors, Buyers and Construction to ensure accurate technical financial management and budgeting forecasting.
Management of design change protocols.
Input into the subcontractor QA checks to ensure best practice compliance.
Management of Fire engineer duties through all stages top ensure successful delivery of all fire related items.
Co-ordinate consultant appointments and prepare appointment scopes, design programmes and fee budgets.
Assist in the production of the Health & Safety construction plan with the Construction Manager and issue monthly CDM statements.
Issue accurate and up-to-date monthly project reports.
Address relevant issues with Contracts,
Employers Requirements, Contractors
Proposals, Insurances, Performance Bonds,
Adoption Agreements and Bonds, Warranties, etc.
Preparation fo Pre-Construction Information Packs.
Preparation of Health & Safety File/O&M Manual and other relevant handover documents.
Manage, agree and complete legal adoptions of all infrastructure elements.
Manage local authority licence approvals.
Manage strategic statute services, diversions and connections.
Oversee the management of design information via the company EDMS and/or
BIM clouds and hold a general competence in the use of document management situations.
Excellent attention to detail
Experience in dealing with complex technical drawings
Strong IT skills and experience of using computers, preferably
A pro-active management style with capability to lead and coordinate a wider team.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Able to work with a high degree of accuracy.
A methodical approach to working practices.

Experience in stakeholder management.
Ability to coach and training junior and new team members in Technical processes and procedures
Confident at engaging with design consultants and site management teams
Liaise with Key stakeholders during the development process.
Act as the main Client contact during the Construction Phase.

Collation and review of existing drawing information to establish accurate project data and specifications to prioritise remediation works.
Review of Visual Inspection Reports and assessment of height of building.
Discussion with Fire Engineer to agree extent of potential works required and areas to open up to investigate existing external wall build up, cladding types and fire stopping.
Review of Intrusive Reports in conjunction with external Consultants and Fire Engineer and agree with all parties the extent of works required.
Value engineering of remedial proposals in collaboration with our Commercial Managers to identify if there are other ways to comply with regulations and to make the building safe for residents.
On site assessments to review as-built building specifications and details.
Liaison with Managing Agents/Freeholders/RTM's/Solicitors to obtain relevant documentation and necessary permissions or licences to carry out intrusive investigations and the remedial works.
Liaise with Managing Agents/Freeholders/RTM's and Project Manager about timescales and what is communicated to residents.
Liaise with Building Control/Local Authority where required.
Check compliance of design and installation.
Provide any assistance or information to all parties to carry their responsibilities.
Ensure certification of works when completed in accordance with Government requirements.Finally, let's tell you a bit more about us
