FABRICATION Team LeaderSALARY £35,000-£40,000 (depending on experience)
The company specialise in fabrication, welding, waterjet and laser cutting and a fantastic opportunity has now become available for a fully experienced Fabrication Team Leader to lead the company in such a way that the manufacture of products, quality adherence, safety, cost, delivery and people are managed in line with the business objectives through continuous improvement of working practices, processes and training.
Reporting to the General Manager the role will be varied and requires someone who is results driven, an excellent communicator at all levels and can motivate a team and individuals to perform at their best. As Fabrication Team Leader the successful candidate will need to work effectively under pressure and adapt to whatever changes or issues can arise during the manufacturing process. The role will be hands-on when necessary, therefore, a high level of knowledge and practical experience of operating fabrication/welding machinery and equipment is required.
Main Responsibilities:
· Provide leadership, support and direction to each of the three areas within the company.
· Develop and maintain excellent health and safety standards and consistent product quality control systems throughout the businesses.
· Ensure manufacturing efficiency and targets are achieved, best practice and customer delivery are maintained.
· Manage, lead, develop and motivate staff to continually achieve targets, objectives and best practice throughout the manufacturing process on an on-going basis.
· Manage and enhance the Lean manufacturing principles in all areas of the business to increase productivity.
· Optimise the capability and capacity of the business by developing a flexible team who are motivated, trained, capable and effective and who consistently deliver high levels of performance.
· Consistently review and analyse costs to achieve a reduction in hours of build and purchase of materials.
Essential Skills and behaviours:
· At least 10 years experience of working within the sheet metal/fabrication industry, with at least five years in a management role.
· A strong motivator with excellent communication skills and fully conversant on Lean principles and application of the techniques.
· Strong people management and leadership skills with experience of staff management, development of teams and performance evaluation.
· Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation with an IOSH qualification an advantage
· A thorough understanding of compliance and adherence to the ISO9001 Quality standard.
· Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Sage 50 desirable.
Benefits:-
Salary £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
20 days annual leave plus an extra days holiday for birthdays and an additional holiday given for the Christmas Shutdown period
