Fostering Devon have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Social Worker. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as an Assessing Social Worker in our Fostering, Recruitment and Assessment team. About the role
The service is responsible for the recruitment and assessment of mainstream foster carers, specialist foster carers and Devon Young Peoples Accommodation Service hosts. This is a challenging and rewarding role which involves the training, preparation and assessment of prospective carers/hosts. Assessments are presented to Devon County Councils Fostering Panel and once carers are approved you will provide support and supervision of the foster carers throughout their 1st year of caring for our children and young people.
About you
You will need to be an experienced, robust social worker with post qualifying social work experience within children and families, who possesses knowledge of fostering regulations.
You will be a strong communicator, both written and verbally, have good IT skills, be a confident trainer, be flexible and able to travel throughout the area.
You will be an enthusiastic promoter of the value of fostering and willing to engage with the general public at recruitment events.
Youll be joining a proactive, established and welcoming team who are committed to providing our children with carers who are well prepared, resilient and trauma informed.
