Job summary
The Company:We are working with one of the North West's best regarded contractors who successfully deliver high profile, new build projects for a varied client base across the North West of England. They are a growing business and are selective about the clients they work with and the people who join their team. The majority of their projects come from repeat business from an enviable client base.
The Role:
They are now in a position to add to their Commercial team due to a number of recently secured projects based in Manchester & Preston. Their schemes include offices, hotels, student accommodation, schools, apartments and industrial units.
They want someone to join their team in the coming months to be able to help take 1 large or 2-3 smaller valued schemes through pre-construction and on to site.
They require a Senior QS capable of managing significant £Multi-million projects (with a small commercial team) reporting in to the Commercial Manager.
You will work closely with the operations and technical teams to help reach a successful commercial outcome on the project/s.
General responsibilities will include the following;
Commercial management of projects
Overseeing, mentoring and developing an Assistant QS
Setting up projects commercially allocating spend allowance, preparing procurement schedule, etc.
Timely procurement of the supply chain with commercially beneficial terms
Work closely with the delivery team
Submission and negotiation of the monthly applications for payment to the Client
Ensuring timely submission of the Clients payment certificate and the request for invoice from accounts
Reviewing the applications for payment received from the supply chain and issuing necessary notices
Completion of the monthly cost report and presentation of the same at the monthly project review
Regular review and updating of the cash flow forecast
Settlement of the Client and supply chain final accounts
Attending Client progress, design team and sub-contractor meetings
You:
Ideally, they would like to recruit a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has previously been the commercial lead on significant building projects and would also be interested in speaking with people at Quantity Surveyor level with ambition to progress.
You will be based in or be able to commute to the North West of England daily.
You will be IT literate
Good knowledge of Construction Contracts.
