Were supporting our client, a cast and forged steel components manufacturing company based in Sheffield, who are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their growing team. The successful Maintenance Engineer will have experience of working in a similar heavy engineering/manufacturing environment with PLC fault finding/DC motor control/3 phase electrical equipment.
Position Overview: As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be a vital part of our operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of our equipment and facilities. Your primary focus will be to undertake either individually or in partnership with an existing team of maintenance members duties associated with general plant operational efficiency and production availability incorporating facilities issues.
Responsibilities for Maintenance Engineer:
* To undertake either individually or in partnership with an existing team of maintenance members duties associated with general plant operational efficiency and production availability incorporating facilities issues
* To maintain all plant and equipment with the Work Rolls Business Unit, working within a team of four on 2 shifts.
* Equipment and Facilities breakdowns and corrective actions.
* Planned, Preventative and Predictive Maintenance
* Working to set objectives and specifications towards meeting key performance indicators (KPI) in the operational department
* New project implementation and equipment installation support
* Contribute and drive a continuous improvement culture within their department
About You:
Advantageous:
* Engineering HNC Qualification
* Multi-skilled maintenance qualification
* Continuous Improvement training/qualification
* 18th Edition Qualified
* Experience of working in an engineering maintenance role including bench fitting and using tool room machinery to engineer solutions
* Experience of working on overhead cranes
* Experience of working on machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, cylindrical grinders
* Experience of working with hydraulic/pneumatic systems
Essential:
* Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Maintenance Apprenticeship qualification
* Experience of working in similar heavy engineering/manufacturing environment
* Experience of PLC fault-finding
* Experience of DC Motor control
* Experience of 3 phase electrical equipment
* In depth knowledge of Health and Safety in the workplace and improvements made in support of H&S
* Engineering knowledge rooted in strong maintenance principles and failure prevention
* Prepared to challenge & innovate
* Proof of a history of problem solving
* Proof of staying calm under pressure
* Positive attitude
* Driven to succeed
* Effective communication skills that allows the individual to communicate internally and externally
* Demonstrates a flexible attitude towards work and is able to respond to business priorities appropriately
* Able to work at height
