Job summary
Jackson Hogg are proudly supporting a specialist manufacturer in the Newcastle area with the appointment of a Welding Engineer on a permanent basis.The Role Reporting to the UK Quality Manager, this role will be responsible for technical welding expertise throughout our clients customer base and the internal contacts within the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, review & approve welding procedures from customers determining the appropriate welding specifications/methodology for the project
* Investigate quality issues with equipment, working with operations teams and suppliers to resolve
* Work closely with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure framework suppliers are delivering to expected quality
It is expected that the individual will be working or have recently worked within a closely associated sector and have both a good technical knowledge of welding and have a sound commercial background.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
* Qualified Welding Engineer
* Familiarity with complex welding systems
* Confidence in creating technical & sales proposals
* Able to write and validate welding procedures across multiple sectors
* Able to read and interpret customer technical drawings
* Read and interpret welding symbols and interpret metallurgical data accordingly.
* Familiar with weld data monitoring
* Specific welding experience to include: TIG Plasma, MIG / MAG laser-hybrid, Resistance & Cobots
* Carry out test welds and demonstrations.
* Create welding parameters for various applications.
* Welding certifications /Manual welding experience
* European Welding Specialist (EWS) would be an advantage
