Job summary

A well-established business within a busy & emerging market is now looking for a skilled Control Systems Engineer to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an interesting business and work on exciting new projects.

Control Systems Engineer

£40,000-£50,000 + Paid OT, Travel Allowances, 7% Pension, 6% Bonus & Electrical Vehicle Scheme. Siemens TIA.

The Control Systems Engineer will:
Act as an operational member of the software/electrical design team to ensure systems are delivered on time and to specification
Carry out PLC programming supporting electrical concept system design including drafting diagrams and sourcing components
Write and document programs
Write robust programs using automation software (Siemens TIA primarily, others beneficial)
Create HMI and SCADA projects
Prepare documentation for the programs intended use as well as any safety related instructions
Train technicians in safe and efficient operation
Provide ongoing technical support to users within the company and outside customers, both verbally and by writing

Control Systems Engineer The Person:
Possess knowledge of Electrical Engineering & Standards, this is essential
Have a strong understanding of the electrical, software engineering principles
Be able to write PLC code from scratch without or with minimum additional support
Siemens TIA experience beneficial but not essential
Be able to draw and interpret flow diagrams (Visio etc)
Have at least a HND/Degree in electrical engineering or relevant experience (min 5 years) in this field
Any additional ability with control panel design would be highly beneficial

Based in the North East, this role is commutable from within and around the following areas: Durham, Seaham, Sunderland, Newcastle, North Shields, South Shields, Cramlington & Blyth.

Role would also suit an Automation Engineer, Control Engineer, System Engineer or a PLC Software Engineer.
