A fantastic opportunity has presented to work for a well-known two-form entry school in Stalybridge, Tameside. This Year 5 class teacher role will commence October 2023 and will run until at least February half-term with the potential to be extended. This 'Good' rated school are excited to be expanding and look forward to new innovative ideas and positive change. Applications from ECT's as well as more experienced teachers are warmly welcomed, and the school are offering an attractive salary between £140-£200 for the successful candidate.

As the Year 5 teacher, you will be working in a two-form, OFSTED rated 'Good' school in a beautiful area of Stalybridge, Tameside. The school educates children from diverse backgrounds and has established strong relationships with local families and the community. The school supports an inclusive environment in which all children thrive and achieve their potential academically and in wider skill-sets. Headed up by an experienced Headteacher and leadership team, this is a wonderful place to work where staff are friendly, supportive and share a similar vision and promote positive change.

As the Year 5 teacher, you will be responsible for a class of approximately 30 children with a larger % than average achieving age related expectations.

Key responsibilities will be but not limited to:

Undertake full class teaching responsibilities for a Year 5 class
Thoroughly plan and deliver engaging tasks that motivate and challenge ranging learners
Teach a creative curriculum utilising a range of approaches that cater for visual, audio and kinaesthetic learning preferences
Make use of both the indoor and outdoor learning environment and provide activities that support continuous provision allowing children to explore and take risks
Review, report and reflect on daily practice conducting individual pupil observations and providing written feedback in the form of student portfolios.
Liaise with the SENDCO to report on pupil progress and EHCP plans in relation to where pupils are in terms of meeting, achieving and/or exceeding targets.
Have a secure knowledge and understanding of the KS2 curriculum and plan targeted interventions to bridge gaps and support pupils not meeting expectations
Communicate effectively with parent/guardians via Class Dojo and use this tool to keep them informed of individual pupil behaviour, homework and school events.
Contribute to extra-curricular clubs utilising your area of expertise and attend wider school events in the local community.

Essential Requirements:

Hold QTS Certification (or an equivalent)
Have experience teaching in a KS2 setting (Year 5 highly desirable)
Be available from September and be able to commit for the duration of the role
Be subject to an enhanced DBS check and overseas police check (if applicable)
Provide a CV covering the last 10 years employment with no gaps and provide 2 suitable references from your most recent roles in education.
