Job summary
Maintenance Technician (Control Systems) | Gloucestershire (hybrid) | up to £37.5kTalentometry have been retained by Fairfield Controls to recruit a Controls Technician to join their team in Gloucestershire.
Experience we are looking for:
- PLC Fault Finding (and taking backups of PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA)
- 17th / 18th Edition
- Instrumentation Calibration (hydrometric equipment)
The role has come about as a result of business expansion.
This is to increase capability to service the Environmental Agency framework for automated flood defence systems assets (for example pumping stations, sluice gates and level monitoring outstations)
We are looking for someone who doesn't mind travel and working across different sites.
There will be opportunities for progression but not for 2-3 years from this role. In the meantime, you will be able to join various training programmes to enhance your PLC programming and instrumentation skills.
It may not surprise you to learn that the Director Group all joined either as apprentices or graduates at Fairfield Controls.
As a result, they make business decisions that propel the organization forward in terms of capability to deliver one of the most interesting portfolio of complex Control & Automation projects on offer from any single control system integrator.
The bulk of the work is outdoor projects for example London Eye, Tower Bridge, Wimbledon Retracting Roofing, Falkirk Wheel, UK Flood Defence Systems (multiyear framework), Sole supply to Scottish Canals (multiyear framework).
In addition to this, there is also some Advanced Manufacturing (e.g Factory of the Future for the next gen NATO fighter jets) and many more that combine different tech to push the boundaries of 4IR.

Earn £37.5k a year plus over time (paid door to door) and an on call allowance. through the combination of:

This will be working regular office hours with the vast majority of sites across the South West of England.
