Proactive are currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to start work immediately in Saffron Walden. This is an exciting opportunity working for a world leading Electromechanical Engineering company, offering ample opportunity for progression and development.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery & performance of the Site Operational team by delivering a high standard of purchasing and supply chain administration.

As a Buyer, your responsibilities will be:

Raising of Purchase Orders in accordance with the company needs and standard purchasing procedures.
Ensuring that any products purchased by the company are supported by a correctly completed and authorised requisition/purchase order, to facilitate accurate and timely Purchased and Accounts data, whilst providing an audit trail.
To support the Site Management Team and Purchasing Manager by providing the required KPI Data and reports for analysis Ensure that when negotiating with suppliers for goods that quality and service are key factors not only cost in selection. Ensuring that the goods are as required and on time.
To work closely with the Purchasing Manager and relevant departmental senior management, thereby ensuring any Local or group buying agreements are aggregated.
To ensure that all purchased stock information and records are maintained, to facilitate the efficient and economical supply of materials to both production and Non-Production departments.
To ensure that the MRP purchasing demand is maintained on a day-to-day basis and records are kept up to date.
Identify Statistical Inventory Control parameters, from requested stock levels and approved total values by the Purchasing Manager, thereby achieving the required stock control and re-ordering processes.
To monitor suppliers performance on service, quality and cost and identify suppliers with issues within these key business areas, reporting non-compliance to the Purchasing Manager along with an actionable recovery plan.
Responsibilities also include any other support role determined by the Purchasing Manager or Site Manager.Knowledge and Skills

Supply sourcing knowledge
Purchase and Stock Control procedures
Familiar with ERP, MRP systems.
Sound understanding of modern engineering and manufacturing processes.
Good communication and organisational skillsExperience

Firsthand knowledge of Purchasing and Stock Control procedures and systems.
Firsthand experience of working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
Use of computer systems i.e. Microsoft office
Currently hold or actively working towards CIPS statusHow to Apply:
