In response to market growth, we are building our largest Plant yet and Peterborough is its home. The Peterborough Plant will be a key site within the Bevcan EMEA Business. Crown Peterborough benefits from state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies and modern practices to support high-speed and highly automated beverage can making capable of producing 3 billion cans per annum. The Plant will operate 24 hours per day on a continuous shift system, 360 days per annum and will ultimately employ around 280 people.

About this opportunity
An opportunity is now available for an Environment, Health and Safety & World Class Performance Manager to join us at Crown based in Peterborough, UK. You will report to the Plant Manager and will be an integral part of our Plant Management Team.
As the EHS Manager you will oversee Environment, Health, & Safety excellence at the plant, ensuring that best practice and statutory obligations are fully met and that a safety culture is embedded and optimised for a maximum employee engagement.

Main Responsibilities
Ensure that best practice and statutory obligations are fully met and that a safety culture is developed whilst being driven for a maximum employee engagement
Advise Plant Manager and Team on information relevant to Health, Safety and Environmental issues
Implement and manage the ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
Report on the performance of the Management Systems and continuous improvements goals
Support the internal audit programme
Identify and review relevant legislation and other requirements to ensure compliance
Prepare and maintain Plant's documents, procedures for Occupations Health & Safety and Environmental systems
Conduct incident investigations, records, and analyses of OHS and Environmental corrective actions, non-conformances, near miss and develop preventative action plans
Support operations in OHS and Environmental matters, including projects and associated legislation such as CDM, PUWER and LOLER
Ensure all employees are competently trained with regards to EHS matters, with a focus on behavioural safety
Develop and progress Plant's annual EHS management programme, including projects and budget management
Manage the Plant's emergency response team
Play an active role in the energy reduction programme and CROWN's vision for Twentyby30Required Education and Qualifications
/ Degree in EHS or Industrial Engineering
NEBOSH Diploma in Health & Safety (or equivalent), as well as equivalent Environmental qualifications, with working experience with OSHAS 18001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 Management systems
Excellent knowledge of all relevant EHS legislation
Required Experience, Skills, and Competencies
Minimum 5 years working experience at a plant level or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment
Self-motivated and a structured professional, who's keen on working in a fast-paced, high pressure and high technology environment
Self-starter, strong leadership, and team working skills along with the ability to drive change through others
Pro-actively approach all tasks with a passion for EHS, whilst having a continuous improvement mind-set
Demonstrable track record in problem solving and influencing others
An effective communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
