Job summary
Do you have supervisory experience within a Machine Shop, looking to lead a tight knit team, whilst working on specialist projects for a well-established company?The Just Recruitment Group Ltd is currently recruiting for a Machine Shop Supervisor for a leading manufacturer based near Halstead, Essex.
The successful candidate will have Minimum 5 years' experience supervising a skilled team, in an engineering environment, ideally with experience of modern multi-axis CNC equipment.(3/4/5 Axis CNC Machining systems / programming such as Mazak.
Excellent people management and communication skills and previous Machine Shop experience.
* Role will involve the supervision of a production machine shop team comprising of Setter Operators, Production Programmers and Apprentices or Trainees.
* Maintain and develop the company's production processes and procedures to facilitate efficient manufacture by identifying, sourcing, introducing, and maintaining machine tools/equipment, ancillary items such as fixtures, jigs consumables and building services.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of methods, skills and systems that lead to optimum and safe use of machine tool/equipment
* Supporting CNC machining and potentially laser cutting type processes.
Qualifications & Skills required
* Min ONC/HNC in Manufacturing / Mechanical engineering
* Knowledge of manufacturing and production processes including lean manufacturing processes
* Ability to encourage, train, motivate and develop other members of the production engineering team
We are specifically looking for strong evidence based practical and behavioral experience in KPI achievement, development , leading on continuous improvement plans, introduction of new technology, process improvements and leading/driving a team through change
