An opportunity has arisen for IT Network Engineer to join our IT Team in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. Purpose of this role is to be responsible for the design and maintenance of our network infrastructure and provide technical support and troubleshooting for operations and projects.
Job role:
* Proactive monitoring and management of the network Cisco LAN. WAN and Wireless environment to ensure maximum uptime, reporting any downtime in a timely manner to the ICT Infrastructure & Operations Manager.
* Provide day-to-day network and general IT support.
* Support, configure and manage the Palo Alto, Cisco, and Fortinet active equipment.
* Act as networking technical project lead within the infrastructure team for the delivery of a range of projects and work streams
* Act as a point of escalation for site IT issues escalating these to the relevant IT team members, IT Management Team, or Head of IT.
* Implement network security measures and ensure compliance with industry best practices and relevant regulations.
* Perform network capacity planning to meet future growth requirements.
* Identify opportunities for rationalisations and savings where possible.
* Support Incident/Major Incident Management processes as required.
* Due to the nature of this role some out of hours and weekend work may be required.
* Other ad-hoc duties as required.
You'll have:
* Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar role. - Essential
* Understanding of network security principles and best practices. - Essential
* Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including some of the following vendor technologies: Cisco, Dell, Pure, IBM, Paolo Alto, FortiGate, Crowdstrike, VMware, Microsoft, M365, Meraki, MS Dynamics 365, Siemens etc - Essential
* Strong problem solving and analytical skills - Essential.
* Excellent communication & teamwork skills - Essential.
* Experience working within the engineering and/or manufacturing industry - Desirable.
* A team player used to learning new skills & taking on new challenges - Essential.
* Recent CCNA - Essential
* Higher level education or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Desirable
* ITIL Foundation Qualified - Desirable
* A friendly and approachable disposition - Essential
