PWD Connect are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to cover lessons across a number of schools in the Cannock area.
Supply Teacher - £140 to £250 per day (QTS or PGCE needed)
Cover Supervisor - £80 to £110 per day (no teaching qualifications needed)

Candidates will receive the opportunity to gain invaluable hands on classroom experience as well as regular work in some fantastic schools in these areas. Cover Supervision is ideal if you are looking for full or part time work, and/or looking for permanent opportunities.
As a Cover Supervisor/Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth running of the school by supervising classes during the short-term absence of teachers. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain a positive learning environment, ensure student engagement, and facilitate the delivery of pre-planned lessons and activities. This role requires excellent communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage student behaviour effectively.
Responsibilities for the role include:
· Supervise classes in the absence of regular teachers, following provided lesson plans and instructions.
· Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by fostering a culture of respect and engagement among students.
· Ensure that students are aware of the learning objectives and instructions for the lesson.
· Manage student behaviour effectively, addressing any disruptive behaviour promptly and applying appropriate strategies for behaviour management.
· Support and encourage student participation and active learning during lessons.
· Answer student questions and provide guidance or assistance when needed.
· Ensure the safety and well-being of students, adhering to school policies and procedures.
· Keep accurate records of attendance, behaviour incidents, and any other relevant information as required.
· Report any concerns or issues to the appropriate staff members in a timely manner.
· Collaborate with other staff members to ensure consistent application of school policies and practices.
Qualifications for Cover Supervisor/Teacher:
1. A minimum of English and Maths at GCSE or equivalent (Cover Supervisor) or QTS (Cover Teacher)
2. Proven experience teaching primary/secondary school students, with a sound understanding of the National Curriculum requirements.
3. Strong knowledge and expertise in your subject or confidence to lead classes in other subjects.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students of different abilities and backgrounds.
5. Creative and innovative approach to lesson planning and delivery, incorporating a range of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
6. Organizational and time management skills to effectively plan lessons, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
7. Ability to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and personal growth.
8. A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated on best practices in education.
9. Flexibility and reliability to work on short notice as per the school's requirements.
10. Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance or willingness to obtain it.
