What do you need to know about this opportunity within an SEN provision?
Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a Specialist SEN school who have facilities that are second to none. They cater for children and young people aged 3-19, who have a wide range of additional learning needs including Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome and Sensory Processing difficulties. You will work in collaboration with a tight knit team of Special Needs Support Officers and the class teacher to implement an adapted curriculum that is accessible for all whilst considering individual personal needs on a daily basis. The school aims to promote independence where appropriate and often personal care can be expected.
What the School and Students expect from you?
You must have a big smile that will make each child's face light up when they welcome you at the door.
You'll need to think on your feet, and it helps to be light on them too as children often enjoy a dance.
A good pair of eyes and ears are essential. Ears to listen and eyes to help them negotiate the school day.
You'll need to bring oodles of patience and a sense of humour.
What do Teaching Personnel require from you? (subject to successful interview)
Enhanced DBS that is valid and on the update service.
Registration with the Education Workforce Council.
References from your last 2 previous employers over the last 10 year period.
