Job summary
Techunite Ltd are currently recruiting for a Junior Payroll Assistant to join a leading accountancy and financial services firm.The ideal candidate will hold an AAT or payroll qualification and will have previous experience of working within a practice, or a payroll bureau environment.
As a firm they are ICAEW approved and platinum approved ACCA training provider, they anticipate entering the TOP 100 this financial year - there is always opportunities for the right candidate and they look to promote from within.
Key Responsibilities:
* Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate and process payroll for a portfolio of clients,
ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, including PAYE, NI, and pensions.
* Client Support: Respond to client inquiries and provide payroll-related advice,
troubleshooting payroll issues, and addressing any queries promptly and
professionally.
* Data Management: Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee
information, timesheets, and tax codes, ensuring all data is kept confidential and
secure.
* HMRC Compliance: Prepare and submit Real Time Information (RTI) reports and
manage all aspects of HMRC communication related to payroll.
* Statutory Deductions: Calculate and process statutory deductions such as sick pay,
maternity pay, and student loans as necessary.
* Year-End Reporting: Assist in the preparation and submission of annual payroll year-
end reports, including P60s and P11Ds.
* Auto Enrolment: Administer and manage auto-enrolment pension schemes for
clients, ensuring compliance with pension regulations.
* Software Proficiency: Utilise payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero) effectively to process
payrolls and troubleshoot any software-related issues.
* Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of payroll transactions and client
communications for audit and reference purposes.
Qualifications and Experience

* AAT qualification or payroll certification, a distinct advantage.
* -Previous experience working within a practice or a payroll bureau environment.
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including PAYE, NI, and auto- enrolment.
* Proficiency in payroll software, with experience in using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero) preferred.
* Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work well within a team and independently when necessary.
* A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security.
