HR ManagerThe role:
EDClass is currently seeking a qualified and experienced generalist HR Manager to join our vibrant, rapidly expanding team. This is a full-time, permanent position which is based in our office in Dinnington, Sheffield. Hybrid, remote or home working options are not available.
We are looking for someone to join our management team who has previous experience as an HR Manager or senior assistant, ideally in a small, fast growing business or within the education sector. We have grown by 40% in 18 months, as such, we have a fantastic opportunity to recruit an enthusiastic HR Manager who wants to grow with our business that is growing every day.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
* Identify staffing needs and manage the creation of job descriptions and person specifications
* Managing recruitment, selection and onboarding of new employees following our safer recruitment policy
* Managing our already existing one to ones, PTRs and annual appraisals schedule which is DfE and ISO compliant
* Monitoring various aspects of an employees performance such as attendance and time keeping
* Work with managers to identify training needs and organise and implement training. You will also work with the relevant managers to ensure that the training that has taken place has rectified the issues and concerns
* Handle any formal grievances or disciplinary issues following the staff handbook and policies
* Work with the Finance Manager on pay structures and bonus structures
* Conduct 3 monthly welfare checks on all staff and weekly checks with staff that need them
* Work with managers to support any member that are on PIPs
* Ensure all documentation is up to date for all staff communications
* Understanding of HR law and legal legislation regarding GDPR and safer recruitment
* Make sure that company values and approach are utilised to strengthen the organisational culture
* Review and update HR policies in accordance with legal requirements and industry best practice including the staff handbook and contracts
* You will need to forge a strong professional relationship with the senior leadership team
Requirements are:
* Minimum of 2 years experience as HR Manager or senior assistant, with a minimum CIPD Level 5 in Human Resources
* A thorough, up to date understanding of employment law and HR good practice
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
* To be a positive role model and advocate of change
* Excellent communication skills
* Effective active listening skills
* Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel
* Foster positive employee relations by addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting open communication
* As we are in the education sector you will need to be eligible for an enhanced DBS with barred list check
Working hours: Full time 8.30am 5pm, Monday Friday with 30-minute lunch break. Part time hours would be considered for the right candidate.
