Job summary
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer? Do you have experience working on on-site systems and instrument installations, maintenance and for solving hardware and software issues? If so, we are keen to speak with you!We are looking for a Field Service Engineer who can actively collaborate with other Service and Commercial colleagues to enhance our clients overall customer service and support business growth.
This is a contract role for a Molecular Diagnostics Business, offered initially on a 24 month contract basis. This role will predominantly be covering Greater London and other southern areas like Brighton & Southampton.
Candidates will need to be based preferably outside of the M25 / ULEZ zones, but can be based anywhere within a reasonable commuting distance to Greater London.
Responsibilities:
Installation and implementation of new systems in current and new customers sites
Performing preventative maintenance interventions (Hardware and Software upgrades and repair interventions on molecular instrumentation)
Troubleshoot application and instrumentation by telephone and on site, complaint logging and tracking in call management systems
Providing on-site customer support for software and hardware upgrade training
Close cooperation with application support specialists and the commercial team to provide excellent customer service and support business growth
Actively participating in conference calls, service summits, expert meetings, and workshops
Providing primary service and support to the defined territory
Providing back-up service support outside of assigned territory as needed
Maintaining and managing own tools and accessories needed to perform repairs and preventative maintenance, including timely validations of tools according to defined procedures
Maintaining and managing own spare parts field service inventory kits according to defined procedures
Reporting to service management, including spare part usage report
Represent our client in a professional manner.Skills and experience:
Scientific mindset
University degree in a relevant discipline is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy and resourcefulness
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Active listening abilities.
Good knowledge of English (listening and writing)
Additional language skills are an advantage
Willingness to travel in the assigned area
Driving licence and access to own vehicle (Car allowance and expenses provided)
