Job summary
One of the UKs leading elective healthcare providers is now looking for a Theatre Practitioner (RN Adult or ODP) experienced in endoscopic and outpatient procedures to join them in Surrey as an ACU and Endoscopy Lead Practitioner.Rated Good across the board, the hospital offers a broad range of routine and complex interventions for patients visiting from across the South East and beyond. With its 3 operating theatres, specialist physiotherapy facilities, and on-site imaging and clinical investigation services, the hospital provides premium medical, surgical and rehabilitative care in orthopaedics, cosmetics, oncology and more.
The Ambulatory Care Unit itself is a standalone, spacious area for minor and day case procedures, with its own endoscopy theatre (JAG-accredited) and minor ops theatre, a 6-bay recovery area, and scope decontamination suite.
As ACU and Endoscopy Lead Practitioner, you will get actively involved in the management and organisation of services within the whole of the ACU department delivering and role modelling the highest standards of surgical and endoscopy care, supporting team skill and service quality developments, and ensuring patients have an all-round outstanding experience during their time with you.
This is a permanent, full-time (37.5h) ACU and Endoscopy Lead Practitioner position with a mixed shift pattern.
Person specification:
Registration with the NMC (Registered Nurse, RN Adult) or the HCPC (Operating Department Practitioner, ODP) (essential)
A relevant ILS and teaching/assessing/mentorship qualification (essential)
Experience in endoscopy (essential)
Scrub experience or willingness to learn (essential)
Previous experience in endoscopy decontamination (desirable)
Familiarity with the JAG accreditation process (desirable)
Leadership experience and/or a relevant qualification (desirable).
