Job summary

We are currently recruiting several SEND Teaching Assistants who are needed within several schools in Derbyshire.

We currently have Long-term and Short-Term Positions available. A SEND Teaching Assistant will work to help children with Special Educational Needs including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech & Language Disorders, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), communication needs, therapeutic needs (including speech and language and sensory processing needs) and associated challenging behaviour.

* Not essential but helpful to have experience supporting young people with additional needs in an education or healthcare setting.

* Committed to and passionate about the learning and progress of pupils

* Able to support with a relevant, broad and balanced curriculum for pupils

* Passionate about supporting, and celebrating the personal and academic achievement of all pupils.

* Be empathetic and caring towards pupils.

It is desirable that you have knowledge and understanding of SEN, however a passion for learning, an engaging personality and resilience can be a good alternative! If you havent had experience within the classroom we do offer CPD and Teaching Assistant courses to help support your journey.
