We are recruiting for a SHE Manager working for a very exciting Nationwide organisation working within the construction and Building Materials sector. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate to join a dynamic company.
Job role:
* Require an experienced hands-on leader who can engage at all levels.
* Review and improve company risk assessments.
* Standardise best practice EHS.
* Provide competent, common-sense support and guidance.
* Ensure accidents & high potential near misses are investigated (where required) to prevent re-occurrences.
* Develop safe systems of work.
* Improve behavioural safety, set standards, coach, and mentor.
* Develop company policies and procedures.
* Maintain and develop the company EHS strategy.
* Set, review, and suggest site improvement targets on key proactive measures such as toolbox talks, SMAT's (See Me & Talk - behavioural safety conversations), near miss and hazard reporting.
* Maintain and develop monthly company EHS statistics.
* Audit all sites (minimum of an annual basis).
* Review audit action plans with site GM's.
* Develop and where required mentor site GM's on EHS subject matter.
* Issue regular informative safety alerts and bulletins.
* Support all sites and the wider business in all matters of EHS.
* Support the wider business in continuous improvement and best practice.
* Involved in and key supportive role in implementing an ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) policy and way of improved working.
* Work closely with all departments notably H/R, transport & Marketing.
* Work with enforcement agencies if and when required.
Person Requirements
* Group EHS Manager (Minimum GradIOSH)
* Hold a minimum of a NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
* Ideally has logistics, warehousing, manufacturing experience.
* Great communications skills.
* A problem solver.
* Is a people person and can 'hold a room'.
* Hands on approach, not afraid to challenge the status quo.
* Be an engaging, inspirational, proactive leader.
* Experience of working in a multi-site role.
* Must be proactive, looking for continuous improvement rather than what went wrong.
* A sensible, methodical approach.
* Flexible to the needs of the business.
* Full valid driving licence.
* A knowledge of fire safety and facilities management would be advantageous.
